The expensive hitting was a bust, and the relief pitching was worse at best. But flaws hang forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the LA Angels and the Atlanta Braves, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007. Tracy was bench enemy under Felipe Alou in Montreal and with Davey Johnson in LA from 1999-2001. After watching the Bucs fall apart in late 2007 under his leadership, its hard to envision him getting another chance to manage in the majors. So, factually, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a twilight.
